STUDY ON LEOPARDS AND OTHER MAMMALS OF ASOLA BHATTI WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

A comprehensive study on the status, numbers, population density and spatial distribution of Leopards in the sanctuary. The report details the presence of Leopards as well other mammals of the sanctuary. The study was implemented by Bombay Natural History Society and Department of Forests & Wildlife GNCT of Delhi.

A short information brochure on the common dragonflies and damselflies seen in our region. This publication is part of a nationwide Citizen Science program conducted by Bombay Natural History Society in association with other knowledge partners.

NATIVE FLOWERING PLANTS OF DELHI

SIRIS (Albizia lebbeck)koko, rattlepod, siras, kalshishDescription: Middle-sized tree, short stem, and thin spreading crown, symmetrically branched, umbrella like canopy. The bark is rough but not deeply fissured (deep split or crack to form a long narrow opening) biscuit brown to dark brown in colour. Leaves are twice – feathered, up to 25 cm long, forking into 2-4 pairs of side stalks. Each side stalk bears 3-10 pairs of leaflets. Flowers are fragrant, powder puff shaped with long greenish yellow stamens. Fruits are flat pods up to 30 cm long, straw coloured when ripe, and clatter noisily in the breez
